Okay… what am I seeing on the moon?

I’m extremely amateur, but I saw something a little surprising tonight
(between 8:40 and 8:50 PM mountain time) Looking at the moon through my
Celestron, there were two very bright white spots jsut *behind* the
terminator in Palus Nebularum. Tried taking some photos, but as my setup
is jamming a digital camera in the eyepeice, the results were
disappointing. The spots did not move over ten minutes. Changing the
eyepiece up and down in magnification did not get rid of them.A little
help?

Nanotube antenna–impact on SPS-feasibility…?

Do you think this could have an impact on the feasibility of solar
power satellites?

http://www.aip.org/pnu/2004/split/701-1.html
http://www.aip.org/png/2004/221.htm

I see nothing in here about whether these devices would be more suita-
ble or efficient for collecting solar power than today’s silicon-based
solar cells.  Or whether they might be cheaper to produce one day.
Maybe it’s too early to tell…

I’m just wondering…  If they prove to be much *lighter,* being made
out of carbon rather than heavier elements–I’m thinking of the dif-
ferece in mass between glass and plastic bottles–then they might just
push the feasibility of SPSs further into the range of the economical-
ly profitable, where every kilo less is ten kilos of fuel saved…

What do you think?

ITS ALL IN ENERGY

I always wondered if space is infinitive how was made…
I think that energy(like fotons)transforms into thing that we see as
rock
planet…Like sun will dissapear when will give all energy out but
this energy will be united and the new object will rise like
planet, sun. The empty space is place where is no energy only
planets, stars…are transformation of energy, but how so many
different minerals(LIKE Fe,Cr,Si…)on earth are transformed is
mysteri maybe, becaus the earth is closer to sun and gives more
energy than pluton which is lyuid
And what is your opinion?
 I appologize my english is not so god

Did NASA really go to moon? your thoughts??

I wanted to ask everybody a question?
After watching that TV programme tonight about did NASA really send man to
the moon I was most interested in what the conspiracy theory and wondered
what everybody thought on the subject.
What I found most interesting is if it did happen how did the astronauts
survive going through Allen radiation belt
Is that really posible?

Mike

Jeanne is headed for KSC

As seen in the projected path of the hurricane Jeanne, it will hit
Florida just a few kilometers south (between 0 to 128 Km) of KSC…

The projected path follows the coast as the storm will move north,
passing almost surely very near the KSC on Sunday evening.

Since 160kph winds extend 75 Km from the storm center, the KSC will
have to sustain them. Last hurricanes went with winds only 60% of that,
what caused only minor damages. Since the energy of the wind is
proportional to the speed squared, this means an energy almost 4 times
as much…

I hope everything is well fixed  :-(

[GENESIS] Genesis retreived from hole; Science canister moved into cleanroom

…NASA is reporting on http://www.genesismission.org that Genesis has
been lifted up out of its hole, and both it and the science canister
have been transported by helicopter from its impact site at the U.S.
Army Dugway Proving Ground in Utah to a holding area next to a
specially constructed clean room on the Army base. The Genesis team
will begin examining the contents of the canister on Thursday morning.
It is expected that what’s left of the protective foil wrapping will
be removed from the canister, and dirt will be brushed off before the
canister is moved into the clean room for analysis of the contents.
